One of Megaphone's most crucial tools is its reporting and analytics suite. It allows publishers to understand their audience and provides the accurate data and valuable insight needed to connect their engaged listeners with the right advertisers.
The existing reporting tool was able to pull the raw data required but lacked the capabilities to get as granular or coarse as needed. And the exportable format was sparse and inflexible so as to require additional effort to parse and make presentable for others to review. This split publishers into two (equally unhappy) camps: those that used the reporting tool regularly but were frustrated by its limitations, and those that queued up to request custom reports from the customer support team, whose resources strained as demand increased.
The project's objectives were:
- Empower customers to explore and export their data
- Expand capabilities for data grouping and sorting
- Resolve issues with reports resulting in especially large data tables
- Reduce support requests for standard and custom reports
Megaphone was acquired by Spotify in 2020.
